Categories

Categories are groupings of items that are not used from an operational perspective, meaning they are not communicated to the POS, for example. They allow creating groupings of items that can be used for statistical data and in the generation of reports. Statistical accessibility is given in reports through Filters by assigning the desired category(ies) definition.

They are presented in a branching structure, where each Category can contain Subcategories.

Families and Subfamilies

Families and Subfamilies are groupings of items that are used from an operational perspective.

They are generic classifications that group different items to facilitate simple handling, selling, purchasing, or analyzing the performance of items.

They are presented in a branching structure, where each Family can contain Subfamilies. This structure can also define the architecture of the POS (Point of Sale), and you can view it in stores**ace**, the POS, or both.

Adding Items

Families and Subfamilies exist to organize items within them. Families themselves cannot contain items; it is always necessary to create a Subfamily that includes the items.

By clicking on the "Items" tab, two possible ways of adding items become visible:

**Search Field**: Clicking this element allows you to search for individual items based on description, code, or other relevant information, adding them one by one.

In this tab, you can also define a maximum percentage value of Food Cost for the Subfamily using the "MAX FC" button. Once defined, warnings can be issued in stores**ace **if this value is exceeded.
